November’s Hand Making Circle celebrates features embroidery! This month will venture into the world of dreams and will honor the stars. We will gather November 9, 2019 from 9 am - 1 pm on the West side of Madison. Slow down and enjoy the handwork that our grandmothers enjoyed.
We will gather together in the home and/or backyard shelter space open to Kettle Pond for a morning of crafting Herb filled Eye Pillows Embroidered with Zodiac Design patterns. For some extra fun we will be bringing out the tarot cards.
Choose from a beautiful array of embroidery materials and select your zodiac sign pattern or go freestyle to embellish a fragrant eye pillow. If you are new to embroidery some basic stitches will be presented.
This friendly environment fosters a feeling of safety, community, remembering, and belonging.
Being prepared for Women’s Circle:
Women’s Hand Making Circle is for those who identify as women. We want to offer this time to women as a deep respite and rejuvenation time. However, if childcare is difficult, we welcome your children and offer support to you in circle so that you can take time to create as you tend to your child’s needs.
Arrive as early as you like. Our property backs up to Kettle Pond Park. The water and birds will enjoy your company for an early morning stroll or meditation as set up preparations are being made.
Tea, Water, and light snacks will be provided for you. Please note any food allergies on your registration form.
We will work on the floor for the November session. Some seating mats will be provided. Chairs and TV trays are available if back support is needed. Please indicate on the registration form any accommodations needed so we can support your comfort.
You will take all completed work with you. If you have any incomplete pieces you will be able to take any supplies needed to finish them away from group.
Artistic skill and/or ability is NOT necessary. We will work with and alongside our inner critics. All that is needed is an open heart and mind and the willingness to take a leap and be caught in the creative web of sisterhood.
If you are someone who is reading this with an interest in a Men’s Hand Making Circle, please email to begin that discussion.
