In collaboration with Oakwood Village, Coyote Fire Arts presents Oaks and Acorns: an Intergenerational Art Making program. Participants ranging in age from 5 to 105, will work together during this 8 week program to engage in a collaborative art making process and share life experiences and imaginations. Our goal is to celebrate the wisdom, energy and creativity of elders while building relationships between generations through nature based art and creativity.
There are lots of stories untold. At Coyote Fire Arts, we believe that sharing art and nature through the social exchange of young and old will feed the souls of those involved. Our hope is that with shared stories, artwork, songs, and laughter these experiences will help our grandparents and our children learn more about how they leave their mark on the world.
Each session will begin outside at the Oakwood Nature Preserve. Kati and youth will explore the Preserve in search of Nature treasures to bring into the Elders. We will then go indoors to the Art Studio where we will share gratitude and song with our Elders, as well as an art project of the day. Projects will include a seasonal theme and nature based art making. Our time together will always include prompts to support storytelling between participants.
Coyote Fire workshops and classes are offered on a sliding scale fee to reach wider audiences with varying income levels. Please select the price that is affordable to you. If cost is a barrier to joining this program please reach out. Scholarship is available. Find more information about how to select the fee that is right for you here.
